Fun On the Field: Ideas & Tips for Planning the Perfect Sports Day

The most anticipated day of the year, an amazing opportunity to get all the children having fun and being active. KCS wants to ensure you're ready… set, go! We’ve outlined some tips and tricks to make sure your sports day is the best it can be.

Preparing for the Day

Choosing the Date and Time

Set that date early in your calendar to ensure there is plenty of time to plan and get organised. But also consider factors such as the weather, staff and volunteer availability too. Parents and pupils will need to know in advance also to ensure they can attend.

Choosing the Location

Another crucial part of sports day is the location. Have your premises got outdoor, indoor and accessible facilities? If not, KCS has a comprehensive range of equipment to allow your pupils to fully utilise the current facilities and bolster their experience this Sports Day.

Creating a Schedule

Build a schedule to ensure all members of staff and volunteers can keep track and refer to it when needed. A schedule will also allow every activity to take place smoothly, and lets you incorporate breaks for the children and the award presentation at the end.

The Benefits of Sports Day

A great opportunity for all pupils to be exercising, bonding and learning lessons that will help with their development in the classroom and outside of school.
